Our Cat Robbie

February

2nd Visit – Feb 6, 2024

Our vet was very shocked at Robbie’s appearance. She said, “he looks like a new cat and one week ago he was dying.” We took Robbie in because his right eye had started weeping. She examined his eye and didn’t want to give him any medication yet, because he was doing so well on his own. Robbie gained one pound.

3rd Vet Visit – Feb 13, 2024

Today Robbie almost gained another pound. We told her that Robbie was hacking that morning. She gave him another de-wormer and a 2nd 2-week antibiotic shot.

Robbie takes a turn for the worse – Feb 14, 2024

Robbie has started limping on the leg with the worst frostbite. He holds it very high. I actually held is paw up so he could eat.

Robbie has not improved – Feb 17, 2024

Robbie is still limping very bad, so we texted Kelly, the Goshen Practice Manager. We asked her if there was anything we could do. She said give Robbie 50 mg of Gabapentin every 12 hours. If he looks super painful, we could give him the medicine every 8 hours.

Robbie improves – Feb 18, 2024

I rearranged the bedroom to give Robbie more room to run and play.

What a shock we got today. Robbie was running around with no limp. We thought for sure that he had injured his front leg muscles or tendons. Happy Days !! And he seems to like the new setup. He was throwing cat balls around the room and running in and out of the cat tunnel that I brought in.

4th Vet Visit – Feb 27, 2024

Robbie gained more weight and is looking good. Our vet said he is around 1 ½ years old. He had another blood test and our vet said his results were perfect.
